A Sabbath Song
What a beautiful thing, God, to give thanks,
to sing an anthem to you, the High God!
To announce your love each daybreak,
sing your faithful presence all through the night,
Accompanied by dulcimer and harp,
the full-bodied music of strings.
to sing an anthem to you, the High God!
To announce your love each daybreak,
sing your faithful presence all through the night,
Accompanied by dulcimer and harp,
the full-bodied music of strings.
Psalm 92:1-3
For the record my family and I never try to put forth any pretenses.
We do not claim to be "holier that thou".
We admit our failures to others.
"I am sorry" is a common phrase in our house.
Yet...
We do boast.
But we boast in the Lord.
We have seen great joys, and great sorrows.
We have birthed, and we have buried.
We have had plenty, and we have had little.
But in it and through it all, God is;
supremely lovely
supremely good
supremely able
supremely merciful
simply supreme
And so it is that God has taught and helped us through our friends to sing the songs of the resident alien.
Today I am thankful for more than I could ever list.
I am simply thankful that I am alive. Period.
When I was an enemy of God
and a tormentor of his followers,
God did not let me go down to the grave.
Beloved, here is a true and trustworthy saying....
God is Supreme.
