Why?
Jesus is much more than "the reason for season". God, as he rightly claims to be, cannot be worshiped on only one day.
I will fight to keep Jesus out Christmas in my house, and ask him to be the reason for the other 364 days of the year.
Hear me; I LOVE CHRISTMAS! I love all of it! But...
Will you join me, all of you who each year get upset that decorations are going up "too early" and that the holiday has become "too commercialized"?
What if we lived what we claimed on Christmas for the rest of the year?
Would we send out cards to our friends in June reminding them that the Messiah has come for them?
Would be buy a gift for a friend and attach a note saying "Christ gave his life for me, this is just a reminder of the free gift he has to offer?"
Would we sings glad tiding of great joy everyday of our lives?
Would be pass our candy canes and teach people that we are washed clean of all our sins by the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ?
Would be make it a priority in our lives that those who live in darkness, who have not been told of this Lovely-always-and-forever-never-stopping-loving God exists?
Would weep and sing Silent Night alone in our bedrooms, holding a candle, proclaiming that indeed the world can sleep in peace, for the Savior has come!
I will not allow my Lord and Savior to have prominence one day. My God is far to big for that.
He has charged us to storm the very gates of hell and release the captives.
He did not come to do battle with toy companies, the music industry and Hollywood.
He came to do battle with Satan, and reclaim his beloved children.
I refuse to keep Christ in Christmas (only). I will place him at the forefront everyday of my life.
