iWitness

...God is all around us but we move so fast we miss Him.
I've been in a place for awhile where the Holy Spirit shows me where God is during the ins and outs of everyday life...

I have a couple of kids, an awesome wife, and a trail running dog. Together we are seeking God and letting His love spill out on the broken and forgotten.

I believe God has given me a voice that might speak to you too...join us.

Palmolive Holy Water?

We should replace Holy Water with Palmolive dish soap.  It does more that make your dishes clean, it softens you hands, right? So if if can soften your hands by soaking in it, it should soften our hearts if we dunk our whole bodies in it. We try everything else and it doesn't work.

We get dirty living. Our hands and hearts get callused. Same thing happens with our spiritual hearts. We want the best dish soap for our lives, one that makes our outsides squeaky clean. Jesus says that won't due. The dirt is on the inside and no amount of scrubbing with get rid of it. Our mouths belie our hearts. We open them up and what's in our soul spills out. We need to not just rinse our mouths out with soap but swallow it as well, and perhaps scrape our tongues with pumice stones (yuck)

Jesus came clean about this with the church in. They were "giving" land to the church instead of using it to take care of their parents. It was like taking a tax credit for themselves. If it really is a gift, why do we want to write it off on our taxes? We want to save more money for our own pockets. We can't hide truth from God.

We can sparkle on the outside while the inside is rank.

Here is where the power of Jesus comes in. He can do what no soap can do. He can clean the inside of the cup. (Mark 7:1-23) Only when we have a softened heart, one that is not hard, can we even begin to life the full life that is available to us. His blood cleans us deeper and makes us softer than anything else on the planet.

So there ya go, the Holy Gospel of our Lord and Savior. Try soaking in that for two weeks and see what happens.
