I grew up on Wonder Bread and I didn't die. I also drank from hoses, didn't own a bike helmet and rode in the back -squishy space of my parents VW and survived.
This is not to say these things were good for me. My parents didn't know, nor their parents and-so-on
And then into the fabric of our reality Jesus the Bread of Wonder enters in and from Bethlehem no less which translates to "house of bread"
Here the parallels end;
Wonder Bread is enriched while the Bread of Wonder does the enriching
Wonder Bread builds strong vitamins 8 ways while the Bread of Wonder builds a whole new body
Wonder Bread is the bread of champions while the Bread of Wonders is the champion of Bread
When we are faithful to God in our love he offers us payment not in riches, nor health nor fame, but bread (see 1 Corinthians 9:1-15).
Not the old bread from heaven. Our ancestors ate that and died.
No, this is new bread and those who eat it are given more than health. We are given eternal life (see John 6:30-46)
I wonder today, why we slave for bread that kills us while we are offered free bread that saves us?
