iWitness

...God is all around us but we move so fast we miss Him.
I've been in a place for awhile where the Holy Spirit shows me where God is during the ins and outs of everyday life...

I have a couple of kids, an awesome wife, and a trail running dog. Together we are seeking God and letting His love spill out on the broken and forgotten.

I believe God has given me a voice that might speak to you too...join us.

If Sheldon had gone with Mary to the tomb

Mary had gone to the garden with an agenda and friends to prepare the body of Jesus for burial. They had stayed when all others left and witnessed his death. Being Ancient Near East women they knew what death looked like. Death was a part of living. They weren't theoretical physicists but that would have only sealed their resolve. Dead does not come back to life. That is impossible.

To he true to Scripture Sheldon would not have had to knock three times...the stone had been rolled back but Sheldon being, well, Sheldon I am sure would have walked up to the side of tomb and done what he had to do...

"knock, knock, knock....Jesus? Knock, knock, knock, Jesus? Knock, knock, knock, Jesus?"

"knock, knock, knock...Sheldon?"

Now before you all get freaked out on me, read Matthew 7:7-12.

The women went to find death and encountered grace. Mary's response at first was fear, terror and amazement (read Mark 16:1-8). The keepers of the church wanted to keep their power and bribed the guards as well as the government. (Read Matthew 28:1-16). Everybody wanted to keep things the way they wanted. They wanted control, their agenda and power. Jesus has an uncanny ability to mess these things up. Indeed, he came to turn the world upside down.

So what does the reality of Jesus shattering reality do to you?

Are you acting like Sheldon, knocking on the door getting aggravated that you do not control the universe or do you see the freedom, joy and power in releasing your grip?

Paul writes that he was who he was by the grace of God, and that the grace he was given was not without effect. (read 1 Corinthians 15:1-11). What is the effect of the Grace of God on you?

So now that Easter Sunday is over and you have knocked on the door of death and found it to be empty, what is your response going to be?

Will it be as grand as the Grace discovered?
