...God is all around us but we move so fast we miss Him.
I've been in a place for awhile where the Holy Spirit shows me where God is during the ins and outs of everyday life...

I have a couple of kids, an awesome wife, and a trail running dog. Together we are seeking God and letting His love spill out on the broken and forgotten.

I believe God has given me a voice that might speak to you too...join us.

would Jesus use mixed martial arts in a cage match?

So God sends Jesus into the world in human form yet he was still God. It was like he was sent into the octagon during an ultimate fighting cage match. This "sport" is as close as we have to gladiator fighting sans the weapons. Two men are locked inside a cage and they fight. They win by knock-out, submission or the ref calls it. Yep they have rules but they still knee each other in the face. It's brutal. Jesus was locked in the cage with us. He couldn't just leave, he couldn't tap out.

Theologically we can't be sure if he could have just summoned the power of God like the prophets and called down fire, or bears or stuff like that (see 1 Kings 18 and 2 Kings 2:24).

We're not sure if he could have used super-human pinkie strength like God did and bust hips (see Genesis 32)

Nope, instead he gets punched, spit on, whipped, stripped naked and nailed to a cross.

He was sent to save us and we in turn killed him.

God had for centuries before sent others into the ring with us and we beat them all too.

I can look back at times in my life when God walked into the ring with me. The most memorable was the day after I almost died from drinking. As I walked back on campus there was a group of Gideons handing out Bibles. I took one but still ran from God.

But God never held all of the times I mocked him and his people against me. He kept coming back into the ring with me. He could have called down his wrath but instead he continued to pursue me.

Unbelievable, really. But that is way it is with the love of God.
