...God is all around us but we move so fast we miss Him.
I've been in a place for awhile where the Holy Spirit shows me where God is during the ins and outs of everyday life...

I have a couple of kids, an awesome wife, and a trail running dog. Together we are seeking God and letting His love spill out on the broken and forgotten.

I believe God has given me a voice that might speak to you too...join us.

the second loudest silence in the universe

The voice who called all things into existence gave one last breath and was silent.

Everything in the universe, all plants, animals, insects, fish, chickens, noble gases and heavy metals alike were called forth from nothing by this voice. He is the beginning of all things.
 Everything was created through him;
      nothing—not one thing!—
      came into being without him.
John 1:3
The dreamers stopped dreaming when the voice was silenced.

What happened during those three days?

Was it a tug-o-war  between Heaven and Hell?

I imagine all of creation was rattling it's gunnel in expectation of the coming rapids. There is a tradition in white-water boating to to pull into a still section of river behind an eddy and "find your line", that is scout out the path that will take you safely through the section of fast water.

In is a moment filled with both excitement and fear amplified exponentially by the danger that lies ahead. Rivers are rated according to class system, class six being the upper level. The highest waterfall someone ever dropped over is recorded at 198 feet.

Jesus paddled right into a class seven staring over a waterfall that stretched from the heights of heaven to depths of hell.

I imagine all of creation waited to see if he would surface.

History records that humanity left after he plunged into the abyss of the crucifixion. Sensing that death had the final word and that all hope was lost. Jesus could never surface. They prepared a body for decay.

The Creator of Creation had a much different plan...and the angels I imagine must has shattered their paddles in anticipation as the second loudest silence in the universe screamed that something beyond imagination was happening.

  1. Thanks for putting words to what I always felt about this day. Along with a sense that I hope Jesus experienced a deep rest on this day, knowing that He preached to those in Sheol, but it's hard to imagine that Life was really just resting, just as it amazes me that the Living Water cried, "I thirst"
